Our Exciting Collab with The Mushroom Hub
Because mushrooms are considered a super food, we’re super excited to introduce them into our subscription offerings. We were introduced to The Mushroom Hub from one of our longtime microgreens subscribers and after trying their products, we felt like there was a natural symbiotic relationship to be had.
A quote from owner, Dennis Vidmar for the Metro Times:
“We grow our own mushrooms 6.5 miles from here in Windsor and we carry six varieties from Mycopia which grows certified organic exotics,” owner Denis Vidmar tells Metro Times. “All the wild mushrooms are sourced regionally from the pacific northwest. Right now we have porcinis and morels that are coming in from Oregon.”

What are some of the benefits of incorporating mushrooms to your diet? Well, here are 5 reasons to start:
Nutritional Value: They contain lots of the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that our bodies crave, which is good for overall health.
Immune System Support: Certain types of mushrooms contain beta-glucans, which can stimulate the immune system and help fight off infections.
Heart Health: Mushrooms are low in saturated fat and sodium, low in calories, and contain potassium, which is important for maintaining a healthy heart.
Brain Health: Mushrooms contain compounds that may have neuroprotective effects to help improve cognitive function and can reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.
Gut Health: Some mushrooms contain prebiotics, which can promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria and improve gut health.
The Felines of Featherstone
Today we bid a farewell to Dahlia, the tiniest of our kitty crew. Dahlia began coming around the farm last October, the day after we found homes for our beloved kitty duo, Nutmeg & Cinnamon. She loves fish paté and let’s us pet her head while she enjoys her morning meal, and she’s on the mischievous side—often climbing the office shelves and knocking things around when Annie & I are focused on computer work. Her squeaks, purrs and mischievous antics will be missed, but we’re happy to have found her a safe new home.
